The Cuban Heels are another band discovered at Dublin Castle supporting 7 Seconds of Love.
I suppose they are very Razorlight-esque, complete with a skinny, long haired front man, but don't let that put you off. Admittedly I'm not sure if the world wants or needs a band like that, Johnny Borrell's ego probably takes up too much space for these guys to be massively successful anyway.
However, they deserve more than that. I've seen them twice at busy, but not particularly crowded venues and they rocked hard. Where other bands look lost or just plain boring, Cuban Heels were exciting, energetic, vibrant and most importantly, fun. I can imagine them playing some massive venues, and I would probably pay good money to go and see them there.
There are a couple of mp3s floating around on the website and their myspace, and you can buy 2 singles here.
This is one of their B-sides. I'm not sure what to say about it other than I find it to be a pretty damn fine indie rock song, and what more incentive do you need to give it a listen?
